Multilingual Mastery: A Leader's Path to Speaking with Confidence in English

Have you ever had the answer but held back from speaking because you weren’t sure how to say it with confidence?

For many, it’s not a matter of knowledge—it’s about feeling uncertain in how to deliver it. Everyone’s journey to better communication is different, which is why a personalized approach is so important. I work with clients to explore and strengthen their unique communication style, building strategies that resonate with who they are.

Recently, I worked with a highly skilled professional who wanted to gain more confidence when speaking English. Despite their years of expertise, they felt held back in meetings or when speaking to larger groups.

In their native language, they were articulate and confident. But when speaking in English, they found themselves over-explaining, stumbling over words, speaking too fast or too measured and feeling like their voice lost its authority, unsure if they were being understood. It wasn’t about expanding their vocabulary or losing their accent—slowing down, as many suggested, wasn’t the answer. With a multilingual mind, slowing down felt unnatural. What they needed was to reclaim their natural flow and bring intentionality to their voice in English.

We started with real-world scenarios—introductions, tough conversations, data presentations, and interactions with colleagues at all levels. It wasn’t just about speaking English—it was about embracing their authentic speaker style, making sure they were heard and understood without losing the unique qualities of their voice. We role-played different situations, focusing on breathing and speaking with conviction.

There were challenges along the way—moments when old habits crept in, and doubts resurfaced. But their dedication was inspiring. They showed up to each session ready to work and did the homework—no written tests, just real-life practice. They led meetings, initiated more conversations, and even took on social situations that used to make them hesitate.

The transformation has been powerful. Their team started listening the first time they spoke—no more uncertainty. They weren’t rushing or over-explaining, and their voice carried authority. Senior leaders who once overlooked their insights began seeking them out. They didn’t just improve their English speaking—they grew as a leader.

It’s been an honor to be part of this journey. Watching someone step fully into their potential—becoming more confident and decisive—is incredibly rewarding.

This kind of transformation is personal and unique to each individual. Through collaborative work, we identify the areas that need focus and create tailored techniques that empower you to communicate clearly and confidently. Whether English is your second language or you're simply lacking confidence in your communication, I’m here to help you unlock your authentic leadership voice.
