“What is a good voice?”
"I don't have a good voice" ...
sigh, I've heard this so many times and I never agree.
What is a good voice? I was listening to an interview and heard phrases like "a good voice is one that is on voice" OR "one that is beautiful" -- but what does this really mean?
I thought of some of my most favorite voices ...
One is a woman who has a strong tremble in her voice and has endured many a voice doctor. She speaks from her guts, with intelligence, and wisdom but without judgment; I could listen to her all day and more.
Another was my grandmother's -- at 99, she barely had a voice, it was almost a whisper in fact but, I could feel her love in my soul.
What I wouldn't give to hear her once again.
Both of these voices came from a deep place and truth -- no trying to sound a certain way, only a need to connect - to be heard, understood, and to exchange.
This is what to me is a good and beautiful voice.
And, we ALL have access to this voice.
